L’atelier du Mur, precious textures
Founded by Solène Eloy, L’Atelier du Mur creates elegant wall decorations, decorative panels and painted wallpapers.
“The traditional method is the basis of my work and then it’s all about style. Mine is contemporary. I like to combine the past and the present in projects that are both raw and precious.”

Passionate about materials and influenced by Japan, Solène Eloy was trained in the best French schools. What she likes the most is using ancestral techniques in a contemporary way.
She reappropriates fresco painting, gold leaf and églomisé glass to create luxurious and poetic surfaces. The texture as well as the inlay of metallic leaves (gold, copper or silver) brings a precious touch to walls, ceilings, walls and table tops.
For example, the iconic lunar decor “Meteorite” consists of a gradation of paintings textured with mother-of-pearl and glass beads and leaves of gilded copper.
Solène Eloy also creates unique art pieces that express the poetry that inhabits her: mirrors, tables, decorative objects.
The wallpapers from Atelier du Mur are real panoramic decorations, hand-printed and made to measure from original works by Solène Eloy. Inspired by Italian Renaissance frescoes as much as by Japanese screens, the “Les Dorés” collection printed on a copper leaf gilded background captures the light and highlights the graphics, while the “Paysages Singuliers” collection, printed on a mat paper, brings a mineral and natural touch to interiors.
L’Atelier du Mur is regularly called upon by the largest architectural firms and institutions for large-scale projects. Recently the workshop created a monumental decor inspired by Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” for Anne-Sophie Pailleret in Paris, paper hand-painted decors for a Cartier boutique in Dubai designed by Laura Gonzalez as well as coffee table tops in eglomise glass, for a Damien Langlois-Meurinne project.
Solène offers captivating artistic work, a wide range of expertise and tailor-made aesthetic solutions. All the samples (églomisé glasses, fresco coating, paint, etc.) are visible at the Parisian workshop (by appointment).
