Helena Rubinstein, Madame’s collection
Until 27 September 2020
The exhibition dedicated to Helena Rubinstein, 20th century pioneer of cosmetic industry, patron and avant-garde collector, reveals her fascination for African art.
An extraordinary figure, the first 20th century business lady, a self-made and emancipated woman, a visionary… she demonstrated the value of objects of art, bringing them not only to the interior of her apartments in Paris, New York and London, but also, in order to educate her clientele feminine, to her beauty salons around the world.
With 60 showpieces, the exhibition highlights her passion for non-Western arts – primarily African art, as well as her fascination for its expressive intensity and character.
